We originally started spotlighting our Roofing Academy Member of the Month over the summer as a way to show our gratitude to our wonderful members. How long have you been in the roofing industry?
I’ve been in the roofing industry for about 10 years and a business owner for about 20 years.
What is your favorite part about working in the roofing industry?
I really enjoy being part of an industry that I and our team members can have a strong positive impact by doing things in a special way. The way we organize our business is unique in the industry. We recruit and hire based on talent and teach our project managers from scratch and build our project managers from the ground up. As a result, we have extraordinary results with fantastic team members.
What is the most challenging part about working in the roofing industry?
The industry has a low bar over all. This is challenging because it takes a tremendous effort to sort through the various contractors. So many people say they can do something, but their quality is lacking.
How long have you been a member of the Roofing Academy?
We first came across Randy a few years ago at a Job Nimbus event, and I began evaluating the Roofing Academy as a potential professional collaborator ad coach. During my due diligence I contact my supply house and asked their opinion or the Elite Roofing organization, my supply rep said that they were the best run company that in Colorado. That was enough for me, and we started working with them in December 2019.
What is the most valuable part of your Roof Academy membership?
Being able to capitalize on proven systems already in use by a company that is where we want to go. I think that partnering with the Roofing Academy has saved us close to 10 years in trial and error.
What advice would you give a newcomer to the roofing industry?
Get a coach, watch your cash flow and don’t overspend.
What was your first job ever?
I started my first little business in elementary school, mowing lawns and shoveling snow.
What does your ideal day off look like?
Spend a little time working, a little time with family and friends and a little time with myself.
Favorite Food?
Mexican, cause who doesn’t like Mexican food!?
Favorite TV Show if they aren’t a sports person?
Just finished binge watching Yellowstone. Looking forward to the next season.
One Fun Fact About Yourself!
I’ve crossed the arctic circle in two different locations on a motorcycle.
